Hugo Mariano Pavone , short Mariano Pavone (born May 27, 1982 in Tres Sargentos , Argentina ) is an Argentine football player who plays in the Primera División for Estudiantes de La Plata .

Player career

Estudiantes de La Plata

At the age of 14, Mariano Pavone left his youth club Boca Juniors for Estudiantes de La Plata , where he played for the next 11 years. He quickly showed his talent and in the Clausura 2005 he was the top scorer with 16 goals. During Apertura 2006 he was voted best player of the tournament. With his goal to 2-1 in the final against Boca Juniors, he sealed the triumph of his team. In this tournament, the Apertura 2006, he scored a total of eleven goals.

Betis Seville

In the summer of 2007, he moved to the traditional Spanish club Betis Sevilla for 6.8 million euros . On August 26, 2007, on the first day of the 2007/2008 season, he made his debut for Betis against Recreativo Huelva . He has now found his nose for goals in Spain's elite league and scored 6 goals in the first half of the season.

River Plate

Pavone returned to his home country in the summer of 2010 and played for River Plate .

International

The Argentinian Mariano Pavone played his only international match on April 18, 2007 against Chile .
