history
Atlético Tetuán was a Spanish football club from what was then the capital of the protectorate of Spanish Morocco . It was founded in 1922 after the merger of Sporting de Tetuán and el Hispano-Marroquí . The greatest success was reaching the first Spanish league in the 1951/52 season , where you could only take 16th and last place. As Spanish Morocco was granted independence in 1956, the football club split into still existing Moghreb Athlétic de Tetouan, which in Morocco remained and is currently in the first division plays and Club Atlético de Ceuta , which in the Spanish Ceuta migrated and currently participates in the Tercera División .
