Tevita Makasini

Tevita Makasini (born November 26, 1976 ) is a football assistant referee from Tonga .

Makasini has been playing international games since 2006, initially as assistant to referees Michael Hester and Norbert Hauata ( French Polynesia ). Together with the former and the second assistant Jan-Hendrik Hintz , he led a preliminary round game at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa . At the U-17 World Cup in 2013 in the United Arab Emirates , he was used together with Norbert Hauata and Mark Rule . At the Club World Cup in Morocco in 2014 , he also led games together with Hauata and the second assistant Paul Ahupu .

Since 2015 Makasini has formed a team of referees with referee Matthew Conger and assistant Simon Lount . At the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015 , they were used in two games. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Conger, Lount and Makasini also directed soccer games. In 2017 Makasini played together with Conger and Lount at the 2017 Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates . They also led two games at the 2017 U-20 World Cup in South Korea .

At the beginning of 2018, Matthew Conger and his assistants Simon Lount and Tevita Makasini were nominated as one of 36 referee teams for the 2018 World Cup in Russia .
