Pablo Cesar Barrientos (born January 17, 1985 in Comodoro Rivadavia ) is an Argentine football player .

Club career

Pablo Barrientos started his career with CA San Lorenzo de Almagro , where he grew up to become a permanent fixture in the team at a young age. On September 30, 2003 he made his debut in the game against Estudiantes de La Plata . In 2006 he moved to the Russian Premier League for FK Moscow . Since the midfielder was not used there as often, he was loaned out to his former club CA San Lorenzo de Almagro in 2008 to regain match practice. On the third day of the Clausura 2009 he suffered a cruciate ligament injury and has not played a game since. Since the 2009/10 season Barrientos has been playing for the Italian first division club Catania Calcio , which the Argentine bought from FK Moscow for around 3.5 million euros.

National team

On November 15, 2008, due to his good performance at San Lorenzo, he was appointed to the Argentina national football team for the first time by the new national coach Diego Maradona . In the game against Chile , however, he was not used.
