Daniel Mullen (born October 26, 1989 in Adelaide ) is an Australian football player . The defender has been part of Dalian Aerbin's professional squad since 2012 .

Career

Daniel Mullen, son of the Australian national soccer player Joe Mullen , joined the A-League club Adelaide United in 2008 . He made his league debut on the 4th matchday of the season against Melbourne and came a short time later in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2008 against the Kashima Antlers also used. He was also on the pitch in the two semi-finals against the Uzbek club Bunjodkor Tashkent . However , Mullen missed the final against Gamba Osaka because of his participation in the 2008 U-19 Asian Cup .

He made three appearances at the tournament there, reached the semi-finals with Australia and qualified with the team for the 2009 Junior World Championship in Egypt. The Australian Federation rejected Adelaide's application for exemption from Mullens for the final second leg (after qualifying for the World Cup) .

In December 2008 he took part with Adelaide at the FIFA Club World Cup 2008 and scored the equalizer in the 2-1 win in the opening game against New Zealand representatives Waitakere United to make it 1-1.

From January 2008 to June 2012 Mullen played 79 competitive games (5 goals) for Adelaide. His father Joe played ten years in the National Soccer League for Adelaide, his cousin Matthew Mullen was also under contract with Adelaide.

On March 5, 2009 he made his international debut for the Australian senior team in the qualifying game for the Asian Cup against Kuwait .

In the summer of 2012 Mullen moves to the Chinese first division club Dalian Aerbin in the Chinese Super League .
