His first season as a professional (2005/06) Chicharito played for the reserve team Chivas Coras playing in the second division . He made his first division debut on September 9, 2006 against Necaxa when he was substituted on five minutes from time. It was a made-to-measure debut, as he crowned his short stint with a goal to make it 4-0. Overall, Chicharito scored a total of 26 league goals between 2006 and 2010 in 63 or 64 games, depending on the source; While some sources say that Chicharito came on for Sergio Amaury Ponce in the 67th minute of the game against UANL Tigres (0-1) on March 22, 2009 , other sources say that team-mate and goalkeeper Víctor Hugo was used instead Hernández in the statistics.

In the first year he won the English championship with the Red Devils and also reached the final of the Champions League , which they lost 3-1 to FC Barcelona . The fact that Manchester were able to reach the final at all was largely thanks to Chicharitos: In the round of 16, after a goalless first leg in the second leg, he scored both goals for the Red Devils ' 2-1 home win over Olympique Marseille .
