Abdelmalek Ziaya (born January 23, 1984 in Guelma ) is a former Algerian football player.

Career

Abdelmalek Ziaya played from 2002 to 2005 at the lower class club ES Guelma . In 2005 he moved to the first division club ES Sétif . There he was able to earn a regular place straight away and played an important role in winning the Arab Champions League in 2006/07. He scored in the second round against Al-Ittihad Jeddah and in the group stage against Al-Nasr . A year later he scored against Al-Wahda in the sixteenth finals. On December 26, 2009 it was announced that Ziaya will be loaned to the French club FC Sochaux , with a purchase option. But just four days later, the president of the ES Setif announced that he would not move to France after all, although the club was in negotiations with Al-Ittihad Jeddah from Saudi Arabia .

On January 6, 2010, he moved to Al-Ittihad Jeddah in Saudi Arabia for the equivalent of two million euros, where he signed a two-year contract. In his first friendly match he scored twice in a 4-1 win over Al-Ettifaq . On February 23, he made his official debut when he when 0: 3 defeat on the Uzbek side FC Bunyodkor in the AFC Champions League 2010 was used. He scored his first goal in the AFC Champions League on March 8 against the Iranian representative Zob Ahan Isfahan in the 16th minute to a 1-0 lead. The game ended in a 2-2 draw. In his first league game on March 14 against Al-Ahli Jeddah , he gave the template for the winning goal.

On June 29, 2012, he signed a two-year contract with the Tunisian club Club Athlétique Bizertin . On August 1, Ziaya made his league debut against Espérance Sportive de Zarzis and also scored his first goal of the season. But after only eleven league games and four goals, he moved to USM Algiers on January 6, 2013 . There he played only nine league games and scored one goal in the 2012/13 season, and in the following season he scored five times in 16 games.

For the 2014/15 season Ziaya returned to ES Sétif . After three more positions, he ended his active career at USM Annaba in 2019 .

National team

After a very good 2009, with 15 goals from 13 games at the CAF Confederation Cup and eight goals this season in the first half of the season, Ziaya was appointed to the squad for the 2010 African Cup in Angola by coach Rabah Saâdane . On January 12, 2010, he made his international debut in the group game against Malawi , when he came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute. So far, Ziaya has been used in six international matches.
