Player career

society

Leandro Somoza followed the example of many compatriots such as Juan Román Riquelme and moved to Villarreal in 2006 after playing for CA Vélez Sársfield for five years . His greatest success was winning the 2005 Clausura with the Argentines.

After a year at FC Villarreal he was awarded to Betis Sevilla for the 2007/08 season , as he had little chance of a regular place due to the recovery of Frenchman Robert Pires . Since one no longer planned with him after the year, Somoza went back to his hometown club CA Vélez Sársfield in Argentina. There he was appointed team captain and won the Clausura again in 2009 with Vélez.

National team

Leandro Somoza was appointed to the national team by coach Alfio Basile in 2006 , for which he played two internationals against Brazil and Spain .
