The Arena Condá is a football stadium in the Brazilian city ​​of Chapecó , Santa Catarina state . It has 19,325 seats and is used by the Chapecoense football club as the home game venue.

history

The Arena Condá in Chapecó, a city with around 180,000 inhabitants in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina in the south of the country, was built between 2008 and 2009 and opened on February 1 of the latter year. For the first game in the new round, the team of the future user club Chapecoense and another team from Santa Catarina, FC Brusque , met as part of a match for the state championship in Santa Catarina . Chapecoense prevailed 4-1, with the player Nenem becoming the first goalscorer in the new stadium. In the past, Chapecoense was able to draw attention to itself more regionally than in all of Brazilian football. In 1977, 1996, 2007 and 2011 they won the Santa Catarina State Championship four times. In addition, with second place in Série B 2013, after 34 years, he returned to Série A , Brazil's top football league. Thus, the Condá arena will get to see first division football in 2014.

After being promoted to Série A, Chapecoense rebuilt its stadium for the first time after only five years of existence. The arena’s audience capacity has been increased from 15,000 to 22,600. It was not until 2009 that the Arena Condá replaced the Estádio Regional Índio Condá as Chapecoense's previous home. The old stadium was opened in 1976 and at the end had a capacity of 12,800 spectators. After the completion of the new Condá Arena, it was demolished.
