Gastón Silva , full name Gastón Alexis Silva Perdomo , (born March 5, 1994 in Salto ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.83 meter tall defensive player Silva plays for Defensor Sporting . After he came to a first division appearance in the 2011/12 season, he was used seven times in the Primera División in 2012/13 . He also played in a Copa Libertadores game . In the 2013/14 season he played 17 other top division games and four Copa Libertadores games. He did not score a goal for the Montevideans. For the 2014/15 season he moved to Italy for FC Turin . He played his first competitive game at European level on September 18, 2014 in the duel between the Turniner and Club Bruges in the Europa League . Silva was in the starting line-up. He made his Serie A debut with a starting eleven on January 6, 2015 in the 0-0 away game at AC Chievo Verona . In total, he was used five times (no goal) in Serie A and four times (one goal) in the Europa League in the 2014/15 season. For the 2015/16 season, there are twelve first division appearances (no goals). In mid-August 2016 he moved to Spain on loan to FC Granada and was used there in 22 league games (no goal) and one cup match (no goal) in the 2016/17 season. In the summer of 2017, I moved to Argentina to CA Independiente , where Silva became a regular. In his three seasons so far with Independiente, he made 44 games and one goal (as of July 24, 2020). With the exception of three short injury breaks, he was in the starting line-up in around 90% of the cases.

National team

Silva made her debut on August 26, 2009 under coach Fabián Coito at the Copa Visión in the game against Bolivia in the Uruguayan U-15 national team. With the selection, in which he (a goal) completed a total of eleven internationals, he participated in the in Bolivia discharged 15 South American Championship U-2009 part. In the U-20 national team , he was then also used for the first time under coach Juan Verzeri on June 6, 2012 in the 4-2 win against the USA. Silva was a member of the Uruguayan U-20 squad at the U-20 South American Championship in Argentina in 2013 and played four games during the tournament. In July 2013 he was then runner-up with Uruguay at the U-20 World Cup 2013 in Turkey . Silva was used in seven games at the World Cup and acted as team captain. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed 28 international matches (one goal) in this age group.

For the World Cup qualifier against Colombia on September 10, 2013 , he was called up for the first time in the squad of the Uruguayan national team when coach Tabárez re- nominated Silva and Emiliano Velázquez due to the tense personnel situation due to two yellow bans from Diego Lugano and Diego Godín as well as potential injury-related failures . For the two international friendlies on October 10 and 13, 2014 against Saudi Arabia and Oman, he was again called up by coach Óscar Tabárez to the squad of the national team. On October 13, 2014, he finally made his debut with a starting eleven against Oman in the A selection. So far he has played 16 international appearances, he has not yet scored an international goal.
