Lucas Daniel Romero (born April 18, 1994 in Loma Hermosa , Partido Tres de Febrero ) is an Argentine football player . The right footer plays in the position of a midfielder.

Career

Romero received his football training from CA Vélez Sársfield in Buenos Aires . Here he made it to the professional squad in 2012 when he was eighteen. With this the player was able to win the Inicial in his first season , as well as the Superfinal and the Supercopa Argentina. At the beginning of February 2016, the player then moved to the Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte in Brazil . At Cruzeiro he received a contract until the end of 2021. Cruzeiro acquired 50% of the transfer rights to Romero. The contract stipulates that Cruzeiro will receive another 10% of the rights for one million reais if Romero plays at least 40 games with a stake of at least 30 minutes in one season. In 2016 and 2017 he played 39 games each. In the 2018 season he also played 39 games until October 24, 2018.

At the beginning of August 2019 Romero went back to his homeland, where he received a new contract with CA Independiente . The transfer fee was 19 million real. Of these, Cruzeiro received 11.4 million and Velez Sársfield received 7.6 million.

National team

In 2013 the player received a call to the U-20 South American Football Championship . He played all four games there. Romero is part of the Argentine squad at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
