Luiz Carlos Ferreira , known as Luizinho (born October 22, 1958 in Nova Lima , Minas Gerais ) is a former Brazilian football player . He played on defense.

During his career (1975-1996) he played for Villa Nova Atlético Clube, (2003 played another footballer named Luizinho, Luiz Antônio de Oliveira, for Villa Nova) Atlético Mineiro , Cruzeiro and in Portugal for Sporting Lisbon . The national championship of the state of Minas Gerais ( Campeonato Mineiro ) he won nine times in a row: (1978-1982, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1994) and with Cruzeiro the Copa do Brasil 1993 .

He played 32 times for Brazil between August 1980 and June 1983 and scored two goals. For Brazil he took part in the 1982 World Cup in Spain and was a regular player in all five games.
