Marvin Cabrera (born May 1, 1980 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican soccer player who initially played in midfield and has been in defense since 2006 .

Life

Cabrera played his first game in the Mexican Primera División on November 19, 2000, when his hometown club Cruz Azul played his away game at the then city rivals Necaxa (2-2) in the Aztec Stadium .

His first first division goal was on September 29, 2002 in another city derby against the UNAM Pumas in the Olympic Stadium in Mexico City . In the 32nd minute he scored the 1-0 lead in a Clásico Chilango , which ended 2-2.

His only brace in the Primera División came in an away game played on May 8, 2004 against the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz , in whose 6-2 victory he scored 1-0 (first minute) and 3-0 ( ninth minute) laid the foundation stone.

After five years at Cruz Azul, Cabrera moved to CF Pachuca in the summer of 2005 , where he was under contract for the next three years and spent the most successful time of his professional career. With the Tuzos he won two championship titles, twice the CONCACAF Champions' Cup and once the Copa Sudamericana . In particular , he played a decisive role in winning the CONCACAF Champions' Cup 2007 , as he scored the important equalizer in the 82nd minute at Chivas Guadalajara in the first leg of the final at Chivas Guadalajara Had made possible the second leg.
