Maicosuel (born June 16, 1986 in Cosmópolis , São Paulo ; actually Maicosuel Reginaldo de Matos ) is a Brazilian football player . He is under contract with São Paulo FC and loaned to Paraná Clube .

Career

Maicosuel played for Guarani FC and AA Internacional in his youth . He started his career in 2001 at Clube Atlético Sorocaba . In 2005 he moved to Paraná Clube , which he left in January 2007 to join Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte . From Cruzeiro he was awarded to Palmeiras São Paulo in 2008 and to Botafogo FR in 2009 . He had his breakthrough this season at Botafogo: With his twelve goals, scored in 18 games, he helped the club to the regional championship. He was named the best left attacking midfielder and the best player in the 2009 Rio de Janeiro State Championship and became the top scorer.

For the 2009/10 season Maicosuel moved to the German Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , with whom he signed a contract until 2014. He scored his first competitive goal in a 2-0 win over Oberneuland in the first main round of the DFB Cup . After a season he left Hoffenheim and moved back to Botafogo FR in July 2010 .

From 2012 to 2014 Maicosuel was under contract with the Italian first division club Udinese Calcio . Since July 2014 he has been back in his home country for Atlético Mineiro .
