Josué Anunciado de Oliveira (born July 19, 1979 in Vitória de Santo Antão ), Josué for short , is a former Brazilian soccer player .
Career
society
The defensive midfielder comes from the youth division of CA do Porto , from which he moved to Goiás EC in 1996 at the age of seventeen . He stayed with Goiás until the end of 2004, before signing a contract with São Paulo FC in January 2005 . With São Paulo, Josué won the Club World Cup, the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian championship.
From August 2007 Josué was under contract with VfL Wolfsburg in Germany . He made his debut on August 26, 2007, the 3rd matchday, against FC Schalke 04 . In the game that ended 1: 1, he saw the yellow-red card . In the first year he made thirty league and four DFB Cup appearances. In the following years he developed into a reinforcement and was team captain in 2008/09 as the successor of his fellow countryman Marcelinho who had left . In his first year as team captain, he won the German championship with the team for the first time in the club's history.
In the following year he was an integral part of the team, even if he gave the captain's armband to Edin Džeko because of his better English skills. In the 2010/11 season, however, VfL Wolfsburg slipped into the table cellar. This was followed by a change of coach and the first measure of the new coach Pierre Littbarski was to take Josué out of the team. When the success did not want to set, he returned under the third coach of the season, Felix Magath , under whom he had already played in the championship season, back into the team and helped to secure relegation in the remaining games.
At the end of March, Josué and VfL Wolfsburg terminated his contract by mutual agreement. He then moved back to Brazil to Clube Atlético Mineiro . There he was under contract until the end of 2015.
National team
Josué is Brazil's national player . The midfielder made his debut on March 27, 2007 in a friendly against the selection of Ghana . At that time he was substituted on for Gilberto Silva at halftime . Since then he has been regularly appointed to the Brazilian squad. With the team he won the Copa América 2007 . In May 2010, national coach Carlos Dunga and his Wolfsburg teammate Grafite called him to the squad for the World Cup in South Africa. There he was used in the last group game on June 25 against Portugal . In the 0-0 draw, the midfielder was substituted on for Felipe Melo just before half- time.
