Felipe Melo (born June 26, 1983 in Volta Redonda , actually Felipe Melo Vicente de Carvalho ) is a Brazilian football player . He plays for Palmeiras São Paulo .
Career
society
Felipe Melo started his career as a footballer in Brazil with Clube de Regatas do Flamengo . There he played from 2001 to 2003. For 2003 he changed clubs and went to the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube from Belo Horizonte . His last stop in Brazil was in 2004 at Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense in Porto Alegre .
In January 2005, Melo moved to the Spanish first division club RCD Mallorca . There he could not prevail and came in the second half of the season on eight goalless league appearances. He then went to league competitor Racing Santander in the summer , where he made his breakthrough. In the following season he was thrown back again and again by injuries, but came on three goals this season in 15 games. Since he had lost his regular place, he went in the summer of 2007 to promoted to the first division, UD Almería .
In March 2008, the Italian club Fiorentina secured the services of the midfielder for a transfer fee of 13 million euros .
In July 2009 he moved to the record champions Juventus Turin , in return Marco Marchionni was transferred to Florence. In his first competitive game for Juventus at AS Roma , he scored his first goal with the goal to make it 3-1. In the course of the season there were three hits. In addition, he was expelled twice prematurely with a yellow-red card . Together with Claudio Marchisio , Diego , Christian Poulsen and Mauro Camoranesi, he formed the heart of Juventus. For the 2011/12 season Melo was awarded to the Turkish club Galatasaray Istanbul . After the season he was loaned for another season with an option to buy . On the 13th matchday of the 2012/13 season, he parried a penalty as a goalkeeper in the 91st minute of the game, which would have led to the 1-1 equalizer for Elazigspor . Goalkeeper Fernando Muslera had previously been sent off. In the same season, Melo was again Turkish champions with Galatasaray. In July 2013, Galatasaray signed him for good. Juventus Turin received a transfer fee of 3.75 million euros; Melo signed a three-year contract. Felipe Melo won three Turkish championships with Galatasaray. The club won the 20th championship and received the fourth star for it.
In the summer of 2015, Melo repeatedly expressed his desire to continue his career with an Italian or Brazilian club. After the transfer negotiations between Inter Milan , where Roberto Mancini Melo's former coach at Galatasaray did not end with an agreement, Melo extended his one-year contract with Galatasaray for another three years. On the last day of the 2015 summer transfer period, an agreement was reached between Galatasaray and Inter Milan. So Melo moved to the Lombardy for a fee of 3.7 million euros. His transfer fee can increase up to 5.2 million euros depending on success and number of stakes. With him, his Brazilian teammate Alex Telles was loaned to Inter with a purchase option.
In January 2017, Melo moved back to Brazil and joined Palmeiras São Paulo . There he signed a contract until 2019.
National team
On January 27, 2009, Melo was called up by Carlos Dunga in the 22-man squad against Italy and made his debut for the Brazilian national team on February 10 ; he played the full 90 minutes. At the Confederations Cup 2009 he played all five games for Brazil and won the title with his team after beating the USA 3-2 in the final . In May 2010 he was nominated by Dunga in the squad for the World Cup in South Africa. There he was a regular player and was in the starting line-up in four out of five possible games. In the 1: 2 quarter-final defeat against the Netherlands , he received the red card after a foul on Arjen Robben by referee Yūichi Nishimura . Upon his return, he was found to be one of the guilty parties for the departure by fans.
