Javier Cabrera , full name Marcelo Javier Cabrera Rivero , (born March 18, 1992 in Florida ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The offensive player Cabrera, who is 1.66 meters tall, "Cangrejo" and who previously played for Quilmes in Florida, has been in the squad of the first division Montevideo Wanderers since at least 2010 Clausura . In that half series he completed three games (no goal) in the Primera División . In the three following seasons 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 he played 27 (3 goals), 29 (2 goals) and 28 (1 goal) first division games. In the 2013/14 season, on the other hand, he only played nine games (no goal) and was also used in the two games of the 2013 Copa Sudamericana at the start of the season . The Wanderers won the Clausura that season and were runner-up. He then moved to Recreativo Huelva on loan to Spain . In the 2014/15 season, which was characterized by repeated muscle injuries for him, he was used 21 times (no goal) in the Liga Adelante and once (no goal) in the Copa del Rey . At the end of the season he was relegated to the third division with the club. Then he returned to the Wanderers. In the 2015/16 season he played 29 top division games and scored one goal. At the beginning of July 2016 he moved to the Argentinos Juniors . So far (as of March 3, 2017) he has been used there in 18 games in Primera B Nacional and has scored three times in the opposing goal.
