Márcio Rodrigues , called Magrão , (born December 20, 1978 in São Paulo ) is a 1.86 meter tall former Brazilian midfielder .

Career

Early Years (1992-1998)

Magrão began his career in 1992 with the youth club Portuguesa , where he was active until 1994. From 1995 to 1996 and in 1999 he was under contract with the AD São Caetano club . During the two years 1997 and 1998 moved to the club EC Santo André .

Palmeiras São Paulo (2000-2005)

In 2000, Magrão moved to the club Palmeiras São Paulo , where he made 21 league games and scored two goals in his debut season. His second year at the club, like 2005, was one of those in which he could not score any goals. In 2003 he played 21 league games and scored four times. The next year he was used in 38 league games and was able to get three balls into the gate. In his last season he was able to take part in two league games before he moved to Japan and moved to Yokohama F. Marinos . In the five years Magrão completed 108 league games and could show nine goals. He spent 2002 on loan with his old club from São Caetano (21 games / 4 goals).

Yokohama F. Marinos (2005-2007)

He spent the next two years at the Japanese club Yokohama F. Marinos , where he also took part in the Imperial Cup and the J. League Cup . In 2005 he played 13 league games and was able to get the ball into the goal once. In the Kaiser Cup as in the J. League Cup, he played two games, and he could not score a goal. The following year, in which he did not take part in the Kaiser Cup, he stood on the lawn 17 times and scored a total of six goals. At the J. League Cup he was on the pitch with the team seven times and scored once in the goal. During the two years at the Japanese club, he was involved in 30 league games and was able to score seven goals. He was also active in the Kaiser Cup and the J. League Cup, where he played a total of eleven games and scored one goal.

Corinthians São Paulo and SC Internacional (2006–2009)

After two years in Japan, Magrão returned to Brazil. There he worked on loan at Corinthians São Paulo in the 2006 and 2007 seasons until he moved permanently to SC Internacional during the 2007 season. There he played 19 league games in his first year and scored three goals in these. In 2008 he played 21 league games and was able to get the ball into the goal once. The following year he took part in 13 league games, but only scored twice.

Since 2009

He began playing for the United Arab Emirates- based club al-Wahda in the 2009/10 season . In the 2010/11 season he completed 15 league games and scored one goal. He was used in 13 league games in the 2011/12 season, scoring one goal. After three seasons ended, Magrão moved within the United Arab Emirates to Dubai SC , where he played 21 league games and scored two goals in the 2012/13 season.

From 2013 he was active again in Brazil , first briefly with Náutico Capibaribe , then for two years with América Mineiro , before ending his career with Novo Hamburgo .

National team (2004-2005)

In 2004 and 2005 Magrão played a total of three international matches for the Brazilian national soccer team , but all three of them remained goalless.
