Marcos Arouca da Silva (born August 11, 1986 in Duas Barras , Rio de Janeiro ), Arouca for short , is a Brazilian soccer player . The midfielder and four-time Brazilian international is under contract with Figueirense FC .
Career

Arouca began his career in the youth of Fluminense FC and moved there to the professional squad in 2004. With the club he won the Rio de Janeiro State Championship in 2005 and the Copa do Brasil in 2007 . In 2009 he moved to league rivals FC São Paulo . In the 2010 season he was loaned to FC Santos , from which he was then firmly committed. From 2010 to 2012 he won the São Paulo state championship three times in a row with Santos , as well as the Copa do Brasil in 2010, the Copa Libertadores in 2011 and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2012 .
For the 2015 season, Arouca moved to Palmeiras São Paulo . In the 2016 season he won the championship with the club. In 2018 it was first awarded to Atlético Mineiro and then to the EC Vitória . Arouca left Palmeiras in February 2019 and was then without a club for almost a year. He joined Figueirense FC in January 2020 .
National team
Arouca played for the Brazilian U17 team and took part with the U20 in the 2005 Junior World Cup in the Netherlands , where he played in the quarter-finals against Germany .
On September 7, 2012 Arouca made his debut in a 1-0 win in the friendly against South Africa for the senior team . Arouca made four appearances for the Seleção .
