The Brough Superior 4 liter was a passenger car that Brough Superior built from 1935 to 1936. It was the manufacturer's first car model and was therefore initially sold under the name Brough Superior (without type designation).

The car had an eight-cylinder in - line engine with side-mounted valves with a displacement of 4168 cm³ (bore × stroke = 76 mm × 114 mm), which had an output of 125 bhp (92 kW) at 4000 / min. submitted. This engine was purchased from the US automobile manufacturer Hudson . The car was equipped with two rigid axles that were suspended from semi-elliptical springs. The wheelbase was 3048 mm, the track width 1473 mm.

The top speed was 140 km / h. 100 km / h were reached in 10 seconds.

The 4 liter was only available as an open car, touring car or convertible, the bodies of which were supplied by Atcherley in Birmingham .

In 1936 the more modest motorized 3½ liter replaced the 4 liter. About 85 copies were made in two years of production.
