The Brough Superior 3½ liter was a car that Brough Superior built from 1936 to 1939 as the successor to the 4 liter .

In contrast to its predecessor, the car had a six-cylinder in - line engine with side-mounted valves and a displacement of 3455 cm³ (bore × stroke = 76.2 mm × 127 mm), which normally had an output of 107 bhp (78.7 kW) at 4000 / min. submitted. In addition, a supercharged version was offered that delivered 140 bhp (103 kW). The 3.5-liter engine was also purchased from the US automobile manufacturer Hudson . The chassis of the car was essentially the same as that of its predecessor. It was equipped with two rigid axles that were suspended from semi-elliptical springs. The wheelbase was either 2946 mm or 3048 mm, the track width 1473 mm.

The top speed was 152 km / h.

The 3½ liter was usually ordered as an open car - touring car or convertible - the bodies of which came from Atcherley in Birmingham . But there were also limousines.

In 1939 the production was the 3½ liter due to the war without successors set. About 80 copies were delivered in three years.
