Roberto Trotta (born January 28, 1969 in Pigüé , Argentina ) is an Argentine football coach and former football player . The defensive player , known for his toughness , had 21 relocations in his professional career from 1987 to 2005 in the Argentine league and cup alone, an unmatched figure.
player
He began his professional career in 1987 at Estudiantes de La Plata in the Argentine Primera División and moved to CA Vélez Sársfield in early 1992 . There he experienced his most successful time with two half-year championships in 1993 and 1995 as well as victories in the Copa Libertadores and the World Cup in 1994. In 1995 he played three games for the Argentine national team and European clubs began to show interest in him, including the German Bundesliga club 1 FC Cologne . After winning the Copa Interamericana in 1996, he moved to Europe to AS Roma , where he only made a few appearances in the first half of the 1996/97 season and returned to his home country at the turn of the year, initially to CA River Plate , half a year later to RC Avellaneda . In autumn 1997 he moved again to Europe to Sporting Gijón , then bottom of the table in the Spanish first division. There he played for the rest of the 1997/1998 season almost regularly from the beginning, but could not prevent Gijón's relegation. He then returned to the Argentine league again, this time to Unión de Santa Fe . After a second stop at River Plate, where he won two championships, his career took him to Mexico ( CF Atlante and Puebla FC ) and after a renewed engagement with his original club Estudiantes at Barcelona SC Guayaquil in Ecuador. He finished his playing career in 2005 at Unión de Santa Fe.
Trainer
Trotta's first station as a coach was the Argentine second division team Independiente Rivadavia in 2006 , to which he later returned several times. In 2007 he took over Club Almagro, which was also second class at the time, for a few months . In 2011, Diego Maradona , then a coach at al-Wasl in the United Arab Emirates , brought him to his side as an assistant coach. In spring 2013 he was the trainer of Juventud Unida Universitario for a few weeks . Since July 2013, he has been the Rivadavia coach for the fourth time.
