The Club Almagro is an Argentine football club from Buenos Aires . The club, founded in 1911, plays in the 2008 season in Nacional B , the second highest division in Argentine football.
history
The association was founded on January 6, 1911 in the Almagro district of Buenos Aires . Although the club still has sports facilities for its members in Almagro itself, the second division soccer team's stadium is in José Ingenieros, Buenos Aires province .
In 1938 Almagro played for the first time in the first Argentine football league when they made promotion the previous year. However, they only stayed in the top division for a year. It was the first year in which promotion to League 1 was possible. In 1968 Almagro was second division champion, but missed the leap into first class in relegation. In their almost 100 years of club history, the "Tricolores" were most of the time in the second division, including a few years in the third division. Most recently, the club was able to draw attention to itself in 2000 and 2004 with its promotion to the first division, but had to return to the second division after only one year.
Stadion
Club Almagro plays in the Estadio Tres de Febrero , which was inaugurated on April 7, 1956 and offers space for 19,500 spectators.
