Wellington Aparecido Martins , usually short Wellington (born January 28, 1991 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian soccer player .

Career

Wellington began his football career with the Corinthians in his hometown of São Paulo at the age of eight. In 2005 he moved to the youth team of São Paulo FC , with whom he won the Nike Cup in 2006. There he received his first professional contract in 2008 and played 78 league games for the club until 2014, in which he scored a goal. In 2008 he was Brazilian champion with the team . In May 2014 he was awarded to SC Internacional , where he played until December 2015. For the 2017 season Wellington was loaned to the CR Vasco da Gama from Rio de Janeiro . At the end of the year he was signed by the club for three years. On May 21, 2018, a picture of him and other Vasco players appeared on social media. With this the fans were criticized. The club then suspended him indefinitely.
