Sergio Órteman , full name Sergio Daniel Órteman Rodríguez , (born September 29, 1978 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Player career

The beginnings

Depending on the sources, the 1.80 m or 1.81 m tall Uruguayan Sergio Orteman began his career in his home country at Central Español . There he played until 2001 before he moved to the Paraguayan top team Olimpia Asunción . There he had his most successful time as a player. First, the 2002 Copa Libertadores , which is comparable to the European Champions League , was won, before the Recopa Sudamericana was won in 2003 . Although the time at Olimpia was very successful for him internationally, he could not achieve a national title in the three years in Paraguay .

South America

Sergio Orteman then moved to the Argentine league for Independiente in 2004 , where he completed a total of 16 league games (one goal) in three half-series, before leaving Argentina for Mexico . He was loaned to the Mexicans for one season (16 games, one goal) before he returned to Independiente for half a year, where he was able to book another 17 league appearances (three goals) in the Apertura in 2006. At the beginning of 2007 he moved for € 1.3 million to the Argentinian top team Boca Juniors , where he played 13 games (one goal) in the 2007 Torneo Clausura. He was also part of the team that won the Copa Libertadores in 2007 . Thus he achieved the second great success after 2002.

Europe

This was followed by two loan deals from Boca Juniors for the 2007/08 season. First Orteman was loaned for the first half of the 2007/2008 season to the Turkish first division promoted Istanbul Büyükşehir (nine games, one goal), for the second half of the Spanish first division club Racing Santander (five games, one goal).

return

With both he could not prevail permanently, so that Boca Juniors gave him in the summer of 2008 to the Brazilian top club Gremio Porto Alegre . In his local until 2009 ending time he came to nine scoreless appearances in the Brasileiro A . At Apertura 2009 he then joined the Montevidean big club Peñarol , booked there 20 season appearances in the Primera División and was four times in the line-up of the Aurinegros in the Liguilla Pre Libertadores . His club won the Uruguayan championship that season. For Apertura 2010, however, he went abroad again. He played 14 games (one goal) in Apertura 2010 for Querétaro FC in Mexico. He then returned to Olimpia Asunción for Apertura and Clausura of the year 2011 and Apertura 2012 . During this period, he completed 41 games (5 goals) in the first division and celebrated winning the national championship title in 2011. He has also scored one goal in six Copa Libertadores matches with his participation. In June 2012 Orteman joined the Paraguayan club Club Guaraní and signed a one-year contract there. In the 2012 Clausura he made 21 appearances in the Primera División in which he scored two goals. In the Apertura 2013 he played 15 top division games (three goals). He then moved to Olimpia again in July 2013 and signed for two years. Up until his last appearance on November 23, 2013, he ran 18 times in the Primera División (one goal) when he was again involved.

At the end of December 2013, he moved again to Club Atlético Peñarol . For the Aurinegros , he played six league games (no goal) in the Clausura 2014 and three games in the Copa Libertadores 2014 . In the Apertura 2014 seven first division appearances (one goal) and five games (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2014 are recorded for him. In mid-January 2015, he moved to the Paraguayan club Sportivo San Lorenzo , where he has so far (as of July 12, 2016) completed 18 league games (one goal).
