Renê , full name Renê Rodrigues Martins , (born September 14, 1992 in Picos ) is a Brazilian soccer player . He is used in the position of a left defender , alternatively also in the left midfield. His strong foot is the left one.

Renê began his career in the junior departments of SE Picos and Sport Recife . In 2012 Renê made the leap into the professional squad with the second. In the national championship of Pernambuco he was on January 15, 2012, the first day of the tournament in the starting lineup. In the competition Renê also scored his first goal as a professional. On August 22, 2015, the 20th matchday, he scored the opening goal in the 32nd minute of the away game at Figueirense FC to make it 1-0 ( 1: 2). In 2014 Renê also made his international club debut. In the Copa Sudamericana 2014 , Sport met EC Vitória in the second round at home on August 28, 2014 . After both games were lost, Sport was eliminated from the tournament. Because of his achievements, Sport extended the contract with Renê in September 2014 to the end of 2017. In 2015 , the club in the Copa Sudamericana only failed in the round of 16 at Club Atlético Huracán . In the tournament, Renê played all four games.

In February 2017, the change from Renê to Flamengo Rio de Janeiro became known. For 50% of the transfer rights, Flamengo paid 3.2 million reals to Sport . The contract had a term of three years. Renê made his first appearance for Flamengo seven days after signing. In the Primeira Liga do Brasil 2017 he played against América Mineiro on February 16 . In the home game Renê was already in the starting line-up. In the state championship held at the same time in Rio de Janeiro played seven games. In which he scored a goal that helped Flamengo win the title . Renê scored the goal in the home game against Bangu AC on March 22, 2017. In the 3-0 win, he scored 1-0 in the 72nd minute. Renê played his first game in Série A for Flamengo on May 13, 2017 against Atlético Mineiro . In the season he came to 16 more games in the championship. In 2018 he was able to establish himself as a regular in the team. The club reached second place in the table in the 2018 championship . Renê was on the field in 34 of 38 possible games, 33 of them in the starting line-up. At the end of the season Renê received the awards of the Bola de Prata and Prêmio Craque do Brasileirão . With Flamengo he won on November 23, 2019 2019 the Copa Libertadores . One day later, the preliminary decision in favor of Flamengo was made in the 2019 Brazilian championship and Renê was also able to celebrate this title.
