Berrío started his career a. a. in the junior division of Atlético Nacional from Medellín . In 2009 he made the leap into the professional squad. Berrío played his first competitive game in the Colombian Categoría Primera A 2009 on February 22, 2009. In the home game against Deportes Quindío , he was in the starting line-up. The then eighteen-year-old was substituted in the game in the 18th minute against Luis Alberto Perea . In the season Berrío came to 21 more missions. He didn't score a goal. He achieved this in the 2010 season . In the home game against América de Cali on April 8, 2010 Berrío scored in the 45th minute to make it 1-0. In this and the following season in 2011 Berrío received fewer inserts than in 2009 and was then loaned to Millonarios FC for the 2012 season. In the same year, Berrío moved, still on loan, to Patriotas Boyacá . He stayed there until May 2013, when he returned to Atlético Nacional. That year Berrío made his debut at international club level. In the Copa Sudamericana 2013 he met with Nacional on August 21, 2013 in the 2nd round of the competition on the Club Guaraní from Paraguay .
