IC 5220 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Toucan on southern sky . It is estimated to be 213 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 70,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 7278 and IC 5218 , among others .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on July 16, 1904 .
