NGC 7302 = IC 5228 is an elliptical galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 125 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 7298 , NGC 7300 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on October 3, 1785 .
