IC 5247 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Toucan on southern sky . It is estimated to be 148 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on August 21, 1900 .
