IC 5253 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 324 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 7375 and IC 5254 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 9, 1896 .
