IC 5246 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Toucan on southern sky . It is an estimated 134 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter. Together with IC 5249 it forms an (optical) pair of galaxies.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7358 , IC 5245 , IC 5247 , IC 5250 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on August 21, 1900 .
