IC 5238 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Toucan on southern sky . It is estimated to be 344 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on July 16, 1904 .
