IC 5222 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Toucan in the southern sky . It is an estimated 138 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 5215 , IC 5219 , IC 5221 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on August 21, 1900 .
