IC 5273 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Crane in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 58 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7418 and NGC 7421 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on August 12, 1896 .
