IC 5277 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Toucan on southern sky . It is an estimated 434 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 5266 , IC 5272 , IC 5280 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on August 29, 1900 .
