IC 5297 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Pegasus at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 372 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 30,000 ly.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 22, 1899 .
