IC 5291 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Pegasus at the northern sky . It is an estimated 554 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky there are still u. a. the galaxies NGC 7528 , NGC 7529 , NGC 7569 , NGC 7579 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 10, 1903 .
