NGC 7579 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Pegasus north of the celestial equator . It is an estimated 557 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter . In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7584 , NGC 7587 , NGC 7601 , NGC 7609 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on October 5, 1864 .
