NGC 7557 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 172 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years across . Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with NGC 7562 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7518 , NGC 7577 , NGC 7583 , NGC 7591 .
The object was discovered by Bindon Blood Stoney on September 16, 1852 .
