Karolin Kroiss

Karolina Kroiß OSB (* December 24, 1862 in Abensberg , Kelheim district ; † July 5, 1927 in Eichstätt ) was a German Benedictine .

Life

Karolina Kroiss was born as the daughter of a district head teacher . First she worked as a teacher in Roning, then in Neustatt a. D., Perlesreut and Metten . In October 1892 she entered the Abbey of St. Walburg and made her solemn profession on August 9, 1894 . She worked as a teacher in the monastery. On September 14, 1898 she was elected assistant to Prioress Eduarda Schnitzer . On February 2, 1902, she was elected the new prioress.

When in 1914 the monastery of Ludwig III. was raised again to the abbey, Kroiss was unanimously elected abbess. On April 23, 1914, she was John Leo of marl , the Bishop of Eichstaett benediziert . The pectoral cross put on her Adelgunde von Bayern . In 1926 she resigned from running the abbey.

On July 7, 1927, Karolina Kroiss was buried in the abbess crypt.
