Johann Georg Josef Schwaller

Johann Georg Josef Schwaller (born October 16, 1672 , different date of birth November 1671 , in Solothurn / Switzerland ; † 1738 there ) was a city ​​physician in Basel and a member of the Leopoldina Scholars' Academy .

Johann Georg Josef Schwaller was the son of the old councilor Urs Jakob Schwaller and Anna Katharina Bass. For Johann Georg Josef Schwaller, Montpellier and Leiden are documented as places of work. He was a city physician in Solothurn and later in Basel. He was the author of medical treatises and became a councilor in 1689. In 1708 he became a Seckelschreiber and in 1718 finally Vogt of Gösgen. In 1724 he became town clerk and privy councilor.

Schwaller was married to Marie Theresia geb. S. from Ammannsegg. The couple had eight children, one of whom died in the first year of life.

On April 5, 1695, Johann Georg Josef Schwaller with the nickname ALEXIO was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 212 ) in the Leopoldina .
