from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Austrian Business Information System (GISA) was put into operation on March 30, 2015 and is an Austria-wide business register , which is intended to replace the previously 14 decentralized business registers.

GISA is an IT cooperation project between the Federal Government, countries and Statutarstädten . With this pioneering project in the field of commercial and economic administration, Austria is the first European country " in which nationwide uniform business registrations and other processes in the commercial sector can be carried out electronically online according to central standards ".

history

In 2010, a study was carried out on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economics, Family and Youth and published in January 2011: "Central Trade Register NEW".

Implementation work began in June 2012 and should be completed in 2015. The first test version of GISA was completed and checked in summer 2013.

The name was chosen as part of an ideas competition among the employees of the Austrian commercial administration. GISA for Business Information System Austria was proposed by Anja Hagenauer from the Hallein District Commission.

The aim and purpose of GISA

GISA aims to improve, simplify and make the administrative burden for the Austrian authorities as well as the reporting of changes by companies in Austria more cost-effective. This is intended to enable uniform business registrations and change notifications online without the need for a personal interview with an authority.

According to a study by KMU Research Austria, the annual savings effect should be around 30 million euros.

Legal basis

GISA was made possible on the basis of an amendment to the trade regulations (GewO) by BGBl. I No. 18/2015. The central provisions for GISA are regulated, among other things, in §§ 365 ff GewO.
