Paulo Roberto Jamelli Júnior , better known as Paulo Jamelli , (born July 22, 1974 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian football player and has been the football coach of the Clube Náutico Marcílio Dias club since 2011 . In 2008 he was the technical coordinator of the Coritiba FC club , but gave up the post on April 1, 2009 because of problems with the then coach Ivo Wortmann .

Career

Previous years (1994 to 1997)

The striker began his career in 1994 with São Paulo FC , where he played his first seven league games in the Série A in his first year , but in which he could not score. After one season he moved to league rivals FC Santos . There he was under contract for two years and played 22 league games in the first year, scoring eight goals. In his final year for Santos, Jamelli made 19 league games and scored five times in total. During the two years at FC Santos, he played 41 league games on the field and scored five goals. In 1997 he signed a contract with the Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol , where he was under contract for one season. In this he played 28 league games and scored 14 times. Paulo Jamelli also played two games in the Kaiser Cup , where he scored one goal. He was also used in the J. League Cup , with one goal following seven appearances.

Real Saragossa (1997/98 to 2002/03)

In the 1997/98 season he moved to the Spanish club Real Saragossa , where he completed 16 league games in his first season and scored four times in goal. Paulo Jamelli played 23 league games in his second season, where he again scored four goals. In the 1999/00 season he was used in 15 league games and scored once. His best season was in 2000/01, where he played 33 games and scored 13 times. In the 2001/02 season Jamelli was able to show the same statistics as in the 1999/00 season (15 games / 1 goal). After five years in the first division, he was relegated to the Segunda División with Saragossa , but a season later the direct promotion followed. During the Segunda División 2002/03 Jamelli completed five league games and was able to score one goal. For the 2003/04 season he left Real Zaragoza and scored 24 goals in 107 games.

Remaining career

In 2003 he signed a one-year contract with the Corinthians São Paulo , where he was used in 19 league games and scored three goals. The following year he moved to the Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse , where he played three goalless league games. The 2004/05 season Paulo Jamelli was again active in Spain with UD Almería , he scored twice in 26 league appearances. From 2005 to 2007 he was under contract for one season each for the clubs Corinthians São Paulo, Atlético Mineiro and Grêmio Barueri .

In 1996, Paulo Jamelli played five full international matches for the Brazilian national soccer team, in which he scored two goals. Since 2011 he has been a coach at the Clube Náutico Marcílio Dias .
