society
José Rojas comes from Talagante in the metropolitan region of Santiago and played at the capital club CF Universidad de Chile from a young age . At the age of 19, the central defender moved to the first team in the Primera División . In his second year he was a regular player with 44 season appearances and in 2004 he won the Apertura championship with the team.
In 2006, Rojas moved in the second half of the season on loan to the traditional Argentinian club CA Independiente in Avellaneda in the greater Buenos Aires area. After only five appearances in the local first division , he returned to his home club. Since then he has played for Universidad de Chile with varying degrees of success and won the club's first international title in the club's history with the Copa Sudamericana, as well as four other championship titles in the six-month seasons and the cup victory in 2013 .
After a few changes within South America and one to Spain , he has finally been under contract with CDP Curicó Unido since 2020 .

Pepe Rojas played in his youth for the Chilean U-20 team in 2003 at the South American Championship. After that, it was no longer considered nationally. When he became a regular at CF Universidad de Chile after his return from Argentina , he was also tested once in the Chilean national team in 2007 . Although he even scored a goal on his debut, he never came back to the train except for one appearance in 2009. It was not until 2012 that he returned to the circle of selected players and was able to recommend himself for further assignments. In qualifying for the 2014 World Cup , he was used 7 times and then added to the squad of 23 players for the tournament in Brazil. There he was not used in the three preliminary round games. After the World Cup, he was only used in a few friendly matches and in the 2015 Copa America , but the Chileans won the tournament in the end.
