Rodrigo Mora , full name Rodrigo Nicanor Mora Núñez , (born October 29, 1987 in Rivera ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.72-meter-tall offensive player Mora was a member of the professional team of Juventud from 2006 to mid-2008 . For the club from Las Piedras , he completed 27 games in the Primera División in the 2007/08 season and scored five goals. He then played at Defensor Sporting until January 2010 , where he was used in 21 games in the top Uruguayan league, in which he scored three goals. He also reached the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores 2009 with the team . This was followed by an engagement on loan at Club Atlético Cerro until the end of June 2010 . The Montevideans used him twelve times in the Primera División, while he hit the opposing goal nine times. In the 2010/11 season he was again in the ranks of Defensor Sporting. In the Apertura he appeared as a goal scorer eleven times in 15 league appearances. In the subsequent second half of the season, however, he was no longer used. At the beginning of July 2011, Benfica signed him to Lisbon . However, the Portuguese only used his services in one league and one cup game. In mid-January 2012 he was transferred to Club Atlético Peñarol on loan . In the Clausura 2012 he played twelve first division games for the "Aurinegros" and scored ten goals. From mid-August 2012 he continued his career on loan at River Plate . A year later he was firmly committed. By mid-January 2014, when he was loaned to CF Universidad de Chile , he had played 40 games in the Primera División for the Argentines and scored seven goals. His engagement with the Chileans lasted until the middle of the year. With a personal goal in nine premier league appearances, he was significantly less dangerous. River Plate has been his employer again since July 2014. After he had turned down an offer from the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in the middle of the year, he extended his contract with the Bonarens for three more years in November 2015. So far (as of July 26, 2017) he played there in 59 first division games after his return and scored 17 goals. At international level, he and the team won the Copa Sudamericana 2014 , the Copa Libertadores 2015 and the Recopa Sudamericana 2015 and 2016. As national titles he has won the Super Copa 2014/15 and the Copa Argentina 2016.
