Levir Culpi (born February 28, 1953 in Curitiba , Paraná ) is a Brazilian former soccer player and active soccer coach .

Career

In his active career as a player Levir Culpi worked for various top division clubs, including a. in Mexico . Immediately after his playing career, he began his coaching career in 1986. Here he changed clubs frequently. He spent most of his time in a row at the Cerezo Osaka in Japan . After working in Brazil from 2014 to 2017, he returned to Japan in 2017 after being fired from FC Santos in October. He held a contract with Gamba Osaka for two years. On July 23, 2018, Culpi was released near Osaka. The decision followed a losing streak of five games. With four wins, three draws and ten defeats, Culpi left the club in 16th place in the relegation zone.

Culpi then signed for the fifth time as a coach at Atlético Mineiro in October 2018. Here he was released again in April 2019.
