Thiago Ribeiro Cardoso , called Thiago Ribeiro , (born February 24, 1986 in Pontes Gestal , SP ) is a Brazilian football player .

Career

The player received his basic football training at the Rio Branco EC in Americana, São Paulo . It was here that he received his first appearances as a professional player in 2004. He was quickly noticed by European talent scouts and was loaned to Girondins Bordeaux in France that same year . Here he only came to seven missions and was given up again in 2005.

São Paulo FC signed the player. Here he was able to integrate quickly and celebrated his first title in 2005 by winning the FIFA Club World Cup . In 2006, the Brazilian championship followed.

In 2007 Thiago Ribeiro moved to CA Rentistas, for which he did not play any games, but was loaned to al-Rayyan SC in Qatar . The player then returned to Brazil in mid-2008. His next club (still on loan) was the Cruzeiro EC in Belo Horizonte . At the club he was the top scorer at the 2010 Copa Libertadores .

In the summer of 2011 Thiago was loaned to Italy for the Cagliari Calcio. The club also took a purchase option in 2012 and took over the player for a € 4 million transfer fee.

On July 19, 2013, the sale of Thiago to FC Santos for five years became known. Ten million reals were named as the transfer fee. At Santos he played until 2015 and played nine games in the state championship of São Paulo until March . The trophy was ultimately won by Santos. By then, however, Ribeiro had left the club. It had been loaned to Atlético Mineiro .

For the 2016 season, Ribeiro initially played for Atlético Mineiro, but had to change again in March. He was loaned to Series B at EC Bahia . For the 2018 season, Ribeiro left Santos and joined the Londrina EC . He moved again the following season. He signed a contract with Guarani FC . After the state championship was held, Thiago moved on. He moved to CA Bragantino , where he signed a contract until the end of the year. With Bragantino he rose to the Série A , where he came on 20 missions (5 goals).

For the 2020 season he will move to Grêmio Novorizontino .
