The 1993 Copa Libertadores was the 34th edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 21 teams took part. The national champions of the CONMEBOL countries and the runners-up took part. Defending champion São Paulo FC completed the field of participants . The tournament began on February 5 and ended on May 26, 1993 with the final second leg. The Brazilian representative FC São Paulo won the final against CD Universidad Católica and thus the Copa Libertadores for the second time in a row .
