Copa Libertadores 1981

The Copa Libertadores 1981 was the 22nd edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams, in which 21 teams took part. The national champions of the CONMEBOL countries and the runners-up took part. Defending champion Nacional Montevideo completed the field of participants . The tournament began on March 18 and ended on November 23, 1981 with the final playoff. The Brazilian representative Flamengo Rio de Janeiro from Rio de Janeiro won the final against CD Cobreloa and won the Copa Libertadores for the first time .
